Ben Duman

DIRECTOR, TIDEWATER OPERATIONS

As the son of a Submarine Design Engineer and the grandson of a Heavy Industrial Technician and of an Army Air Corp. Mechanic, Ben Duman grew up in Tidewater, VA with a great appreciation for the local maritime, industrial, and military community.

After graduating from Virginia Tech with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a concentration in Structures, Ben began his career gaining valuable structural design experience at an Architecture and Engineering firm in Norfolk.  Five years later, he continued his career in Plant Engineering at Newport News Shipbuilding (NNS) where he developed his project management skills managing multi-discipline design and construction projects highlighted by a $700M Design-Build Expansion which included large heavy manufacturing facilities, long span bridge cranes, state of the art fabrication machinery, and blast and coat operations.  Along the way Ben also earned his master’s degree in Engineering Management and Systems Engineering from George Washington University.

In his current role as Director of Operations for Tidewater, Ben uses his 18 plus years of experience in engineering, construction and project management to lead ITAC’s Norfolk Office and its Design-Build projects.  He is responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with all customers in the area.

In his spare time, Ben loves to spend time with his wife and four kids, coaching them in youth sports, boating and vacationing with family and friends at the beach.

We are honored to work on projects which support the greater mission and purpose for our industrial, military and maritime clients of Tidewater, VA.
