David McGuire, PE

DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING – CAROLINAS

Dave McGuire leads the ITAC Engineering for the company’s Carolinas offices (Raleigh, NC and Greenville, SC). Dave has over 35 years of experience in operational leadership serving the consulting, design, and construction industries. Dave has led multi-discipline design teams in the following market segments: Chemical, Industrial, Pharmaceutical, Advanced Automated Facilities, Food & Beverage, and Power (fossil and nuclear). Dave has also served as a Project Director and Client Director for several key Fortune 500 clients.

After completing his engineering education, Dave entered the power industry and advanced through positions of increased responsibility to leading the Structural & Engineering Mechanics team on a regional basis and then on a national basis. Dave also was rewarded the opportunity to represent the Structural & Engineering Mechanics team for the US on an international level. After his power industry days, Dave transitioned to O’Neal as the Vice President of Design and doubled the size of the team in 3 years. Dave brought a business focus to the technical teams by training on change management and instituting earned-value management on design projects. These actions improved discipline budget variances by just under $2.0M in 2 years. As VP, Dave was a member of a Technology Team that instituted several technology improvements including BIM and various paperless workflow processes. Dave has also developed and instituted quality improvements, training, and mentoring programs.
