Jim Toussaint, PE

Jim had known that he wanted to be an engineer since middle school and understanding how things work has always been a passion of his.  After earning his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Tennessee, Jim spent the first decade of his career on the corporate engineering staff of a Fortune 100 vertically integrated aluminum products producer.  His time there was spent almost exclusively on large, multi-discipline capital projects.  For the next ten years he was manager of the facilities engineering and maintenance department for a large semiconductor facility outside of Richmond, giving him experience in sustaining a 24x7x365 manufacturing operation.  The most recent ten years of Jim’s career has been spent with ITAC.

From a senior electrical engineer to his current position as ITAC’s Director of Engineering, Jim utilizes his 35+ years of engineering experience in heavy industry and manufacturing to lead ITAC’s engineering teams. Jim brings a strong work ethic and a desire for collaboration to his engineering team with the goal of producing complete and accurate technical documents on time and in budget for our clients.

“The ideal engineer is a composite … He is not a scientist, he is not a mathematician, he is not a sociologist or a writer; but he may use the knowledge and techniques of any or all of these disciplines in solving engineering problems.” —Nathan W. Dougherty
