DIRECTOR, FINANCE | PRINCIPAL
Kim Thomas has been a detail-oriented “numbers person” since she was a teenager in Oneonta, NY. After earning a BS in Accounting from Canisius College in Buffalo, NY, she earned her CPA license in New York State in 1993 and her Virginia CPA license in 1995. Kim has worked in public accounting for three firms, as well as founding and managing a small public accounting practice of her own. Joining ITAC as a Financial Analyst in 2004, today she serves as Director of Finance.
In this role, Kim is a trusted leader, providing accurate and timely answers and reporting to our business and financial partners and ITAC’s management team. Kim has demonstrated a no-nonsense approach to good stewardship and the financial management of ITAC’s rapidly growing design build operations. She acts as the company controller and is responsible for leading and overseeing the business accounting team. She also works closely with ITAC’s principals to implement cost-saving strategies and to maintain financial accuracy, transparency and accountability that significantly benefit the company. Consistent with ITAC’s values, Kim has the focused work ethic and utmost integrity that keeps ITAC’s financial management above reproach.
When Kim is not crunching the numbers, she is active in her church, currently presiding as the church treasurer. An avid reader, she is also very health conscious. Kim and her husband, Jim, have been married since 1993 and have four active children.
Finance is not merely about making money. It’s about achieving our deep goals and protecting the fruits of our labor. It’s about stewardship and, therefore, about achieving the good society.
