Rick Starnes

Rick’s passion for the electrical business started in high school with three years of technical training in basic electricity. Afterward, Rick spent four years of active service in the US Navy as a skilled aviation electrician on aircraft power and communication equipment and was a member of an aircrew in the South Pacific and Europe. After receiving an honorable discharge from the US Navy, Rick graduated from the University of South Carolina with a BSEE.

Rick has parlayed over 50 years of hands-on electrical experience, US Navy special training, manufacturing plant maintenance training and ITAC project experience into a top leadership role at ITAC. As the firm’s second employee, he has enjoyed being part of the development and growth of the company over the past 30 years.

Today, he sits on ITAC’s Board of Directors and is responsible for all construction activities and design build projects. Rick has a unique ability to visualize and price a project with little to no client-provided information and then develop it into a completely fundable project scope, schedule and capital estimate. He is highly involved in new client development and relationship building. He also enjoys mentoring young talent and developing the next generation of leaders at ITAC.

Rick and his wife of 43 years have two beautiful married children and four incredible grandchildren. This is what makes it all worth the effort.
