Walt Johnson

PROJECT DIRECTOR | PRINCIPAL

Walt Johnson leads ITAC’s Virginia design build operations. Since the beginning of his engineering career, Walt has been immersed in industrial projects requiring the combination of concurrent engineering, design, procurement, construction and commissioning. Even before joining the ITAC team in 1991, Walt utilized design build project methods for a polyester film manufacturer.

Born into a blue-collar family, Walt was a first-generation college graduate and now has two engineer-degreed sons working in the engineering profession. As a 1983 graduate in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech, he continues to support Virginia Tech’s College of Engineering. In order to round-out and supplement his technology degree and training background, Walt earned a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Richmond.

Walt’s no-nonsense, you-know-where-you-stand approach in project development and supervision ensures clients’ expectations are met with a clear understanding of responsibilities. This similar approach has helped build ITAC’s Assured Project Management (APM®) methodology and culture of success.

Carrying the Golden Rule from our personal lives into business helps give ITAC and us personally a standard and basis for ethical decision making.
