McAllen SW & NW WTP Improvements Project
Client Challenge
Conserving water from depleting source
Our client needed new plant SCADA and filter control systems for both the southwest and northwest water plants.
Their primary water source, the Rio Grande, is running out of water. They wanted to optimize their backwash procedures in order to conserve water from their dwindling source.
ITAC Solution
Filter optimization & water savings
ITAC provided our client with Filter Magic® Zero2Waste® solutions to fully optimize their filter systems for maximum operational efficiency and water savings.
Project Results
Improved efficiency by 75%
Through the innovative solutions that ITAC provided, our client has substantially reduced the amount of water required per backwash by as much as 75%. This has allowed them to fully optimize their backwashes, saving as much as 200 million gallons of water annually between both water plants. These savings could provide water to 2,500 households in their community for free.
