Oxidizer Upgrade

Innovative Solutions

ITAC played a crucial role in the successful execution of this oxidizer upgrade project by providing comprehensive preliminary engineering and scoping services, followed by final engineering and design. Our team worked closely with the client to ensure a thorough understanding of project requirements, developing innovative solutions to optimize performance and reliability. A key component of our approach was the utilization of advanced technology to accurately assess the existing conditions of the Honeywell manufacturing facility in Orange, Texas.

To support the final design phase and capture precise details of the facility’s infrastructure, ITAC conducted a highly detailed 3D laser scan. This cutting-edge technology provided an unprecedented level of accuracy, allowing us to develop an exact digital replica of the existing conditions. The scan enabled our engineering team to design with confidence, reducing the likelihood of unforeseen challenges during construction. This precision was instrumental in the successful detailing and prefabrication of 71 jacketed pipe spools, which were manufactured off-site with extreme accuracy.

Thanks to the data captured from the 3D laser scan, the prefabricated pipe spools were installed with minimal field modifications, ensuring a smooth and efficient installation process. The entire project was executed during a demanding, around-the-clock plantwide outage, requiring careful coordination and meticulous planning to meet strict timelines. Our engineering and design expertise accounted for the extreme operating conditions of the system, incorporating equipment and piping capable of withstanding temperatures of up to 1200°F and pressures reaching 600 psig.

ITAC’s ability to deliver precise engineering solutions, combined with our commitment to leveraging the latest technology, resulted in a highly successful project outcome. Our contributions ensured enhanced operational efficiency, improved safety, and long-term reliability for the client’s oxidizer system.
