PM3 Line Shaft Replacement Project

ITAC replaced an existing line shaft on the dryer section of the machine and existing motors and gearboxes on the press section and fourdrinier with new AC drives, motors, and gearboxes. The existing foundations were reused for the press section and fourdrinier gearboxes and motors. New foundations were installed in the dryer section. To reduce the overall down time of the outage, steel boxes were designed and installed as the base for the gearboxes and motors. The boxes were filled with structural concrete. This eliminated the need for concrete cure time and the removing of forms prior to installing the motors and gearboxes. The project was completed ahead of schedule.
