Repurpose of Specialty Furnace

ITAC was contracted to repurpose an existing specialty furnace for developmental use for optical fiber manufacturing. Because the current process services were not designed for the new configuration, reconfiguration of hazardous material storage and new distribution systems were evaluated as well as alternative scrubber locations. The hazardous vapor recovery required consideration of multiple scenarios of process upsets and personnel protection. The scrubber hot tie-ins required upfront detailed execution planning in order to avoid a shutdown.
